DAY 11TH, October 28th
Hello there!
It was quite a while since the latest devlog was posted! During these 4 days, I was really working on the game, and I have quite a lot of news to share!
- Added new Ally types: Wizard and Knight!
- Wizard casts fireballs that have an ability to go through a certain amount of enemies dealing relatively high damage, but wizards' weakness is that casting is slow. They have low HP and relatively high cooldown.
- Knights are basically tanks: they do nothing but are meant to cover ranged Allies with their bodies. Knights have very high HP, but they do not attack.
- Uncolored textures of Wizard and Knight respectively:
- Update on Ally positioning logic: previously I had an idea of having separate posts for Archers, Wizards and Knights, but I decided to remove this specification in order to give the player the freedom to choose himself what strategy to choose and how many mercenaries of each type he'd like to have in his army.
- Levels become Arenas! I decided to make the game virtually endless by removing the level system and developing an arena-like system where each consecutive wave of enemies is just the same as the previous ones, but bigger and stronger.
- Added SFX! Killing an enemy, shooting an arrow, hiring a mercenary, or having an unsuccessful trade - all of these and more now have sound effects for it!
- Updated Tavern UI! Since I added more Ally types, then I also needed to expand Tavern's hire stock! Here's a GIF for you to see it for yourself:
- And many more things! This devlog covers only the stuff that's easy to tell about and probably even show; however, there is a lot of content and changes behind the scenes.
Thanks for it! The game has quite an amount of work and content in it, but still requires more things to be done and tweaked - with that being said, I'm continuing to work the next two days on it until it's done and ready to let YOU defend the CRYSTAL!
The game will be released this Friday, on October 30th. It will be surely available on PC, and highly probably in-browser HTML version will be released as well. Project (or source code, if you want it this way) will be also available to download.
